Assume that the unit has reached the SET humidity. I have read that it then switches off after approx. 10 minutes. Does it then start again automatically when it notices that the humidity is increasing again?

I no longer live where the unit is, but: Yes, I think so. In any case, I would buy the Meaco again any time: Great appliance!
