I've been making coffee on glass ceramic cookers for years. But the smallest plate is also too big for me. Just put it on the edge so that the handle doesn't get hot and it works wonderfully!

So far I have had no difficulty heating the Bialetti machine on the glass ceramic hob. It is certainly an advantage if the plate is roughly the same size as the machine, but it also works otherwise.
