Can you use this device in the bedroom, for example now that the humidity is so low? How does it look when the window is open or how do you do this? Thank you
The unit can be placed in the bedroom without any problems, but it is not completely quiet. It would also suffice to place it in the hallway.
The impression is often given that the air outside is more humid than the air inside the flat - this is only partly true. In winter, when the air outside is colder than the air in the flat and the window is opened, the cold air gets to the heat and the humidity automatically drops. To illustrate this, here is a brief numerical example: If outside there is a relative humidity of 69 % at 0° C, inside at 20° C this corresponds to only just 18 % relative humidity. This is due to the water absorption capacity of the air at different temperatures. A hygrometer should be used to find out whether your home has an optimum humidity of between 40 % and 60 %.
After purchasing a humidifier because the humidity is too low, the question often arises whether it is still possible to sleep with the window open or tilted. The answer is no, because that would be counterproductive. The humidifier constantly adds moisture to the air and at the same time the cold, very dry outside air also enters the room through the window. We therefore recommend the well-known "forced ventilation", because somehow fresh air still has to get into the flat. So: in the morning and in the evening, open the windows wide for a few minutes, let fresh air flow into the rooms and then close them completely after airing - this way the humidifier can continue to do its job effectively.
