Does the device start to work right away once it is connected to the mains supply? I want to control it with a relay, that is why I am interested to know if this is possible, or if further buttons need to be pressed after it is connected to the grid to make it work.

The appliance has a 3 position button speed 1 / off / speed 2 and stops automatically when there is no more water.
Speed 1 is very quiet, almost inaudible.
