Is it necessary to purchase the hose to direct the water to a drain, or is the hose intended as an "extension" so that the unit can be set down from the drain?
The hose is not necessary, as you said, it is meant as an "extension". When the tank is full, the dehumidifier switches off automatically, which works perfectly for me.
the hose is required in any case to drain the water into a drain.
unfortunately, i have not yet found out how the water can be led into a drain.... I have connected the hose to the intended connection - but the water only runs into the container and not into the hose...
can therefore not recommend the device
