Is it normal that the jug still has metal splinters and oil from milling?

Normally not. However, before using the machine for the first time with coffee (ground for mocha), it should only be boiled with water so that everything tastes clean and not so metallic. If the metal plates are loose, it was simply not blown out cleanly during production.
Note: If you have a cooker with 9 levels, use level 5/6, otherwise the coffee will taste "burnt"!
