Is it possible to place the washing machine and tumble dryer on top of each other on the plinth....Weight, stability?

yes, in principle it is possible. The stability of the base is sufficient in any case. But the instructions officially advise against it.
I also have a washing machine and a tumble dryer on top of each other on the base.
If both appliances are well connected, there should be no stability problems (wobbling or the like).
