the online manual says yoghurt pot without screw cap and the one I was sent says put it in the appliance with screw cap. What is the right thing to do?

I always prepare the yoghurts with the lid, I haven't tried without, but that should certainly work too.

Probably both are possible. But I would recommend WITH a screw cap...
