what happens if i leave the unit running at a high level overnight?

Nothing can happen, the appliance switches off automatically when there is no more water in it. If it has enough water in it (up to the mark), it will probably last until the morning.

The air is very dry in our house at the moment. Not much is happening because the water tank does not have enough capacity to run at level 2 all night. As soon as it is empty, the unit switches off automatically.
