Altra

The M Escalante 5 from Altra is a versatile running shoe distinguished by its innovative construction and optimized fit. Inspired by the popular Escalante 1.5, this shoe offers a modern interpretation with a FootShape fit that adapts to the natural shape of the foot. The engineered knit upper provides a sock-like, flexible fit, while the knitted tongue retains the familiar look of the original. The revised rubber midsole is lighter and more flexible, enabling a direct connection to the road while also providing increased agility. A newly designed insole combines the iconic style of earlier models with the proven Altra EGO midsole foam, which ensures optimal responsiveness and moderate cushioning. The spacious toe box and zero-drop concept support a natural running motion and offer the necessary comfort for fast training runs, daily walks, or everyday errands. This shoe combines comfort, style, and functionality in a well-thought-out design that is ideal for urban use and road running.

- Innovative FootShape fit for natural freedom of movement
- Lightweight, flexible engineered knit upper for optimal comfort
- Newly designed insole with Altra EGO midsole foam for responsive cushioning.

Stability

Suitable for you if your feet and ankles bend inwards a lot when running (overpronation). Firm elements on the inside of the shoe give you support, prevent you from buckling and thus prevent knee or hip pain.

Blasting

Height difference in mm between heel & forefoot.
0 mm: natural running style, strengthens the calf & foot muscles.
1-5 mm: Promotes a flat foot strike.
6-9 mm: supports heel & midfoot runners well.
From 10 mm: relieves the calf & Achilles tendon, shifts the load to the knees.
