The new Black Diamond HotWire carabiner, which has heralded the revolution of wire gates, is an essential part of every climber's rack due to its versatility. With its improved geometry and hot-forged structure, we were able to save weight where it wasn't necessary and add material where strength is crucial. The HotWire features a generous side profile that makes clipping easier, and the flat end of the hinge ensures that the quickdraw sling stays securely in position. The large rope working surface provides strength for both the carabiner and your rope. We have also improved the geometry of the nose to allow for efficient clipping of the rope and smooth insertion and removal of the gear. The HotWire is a modern classic suitable for all activities, from after-work cragging to multi-pitch routes and long ice climbs.
