When this material reacts with moisture, heat, and air in an oxidation process, the surface rust has a sweet taste, which enhances the acceptance of the bit. Eventually, the blue color fades, but the taste of the surface rust remains.

The anatomical design adapts to the shape of the horse's mouth, creating a gentle and even distribution of pressure. The canon of a simple broken bit tilts at a single point.
