When used between the eyepiece and telescope, this X-Cel 2X Barlow lens doubles the magnification of all your 1.25” eyepieces. The high-quality apochromatic optics deliver high-contrast, sharp images that are nearly free of chromatic aberrations.

The black anodized housing with orange accents matches the eyepieces of the Celestron X-Cel LX series. A central rubber grip ensures that your hands stay securely on the housing, even with cold fingers or while wearing gloves. A brass compression ring located just below the top of the X-Cel Barlow gently but firmly holds your eyepiece in place when you tighten the thumbscrew. Once the thumbscrew is secured, the brass ring keeps your eyepiece in the Barlow, rather than relying on the tip of the thumbscrew, which provides better grip and protects the housing from scratches.

The housing of the Celestron X-Cel LX 2x Barlow is threaded to accommodate 1.25” filters, allowing you to change eyepieces without having to remove and reattach the filter from each eyepiece housing.
