The benchmark for puncture protection

Vectran™ is a high-performance fiber made synthetically, derived from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran™ is a liquid crystal polymer (LCP). Vectran™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-stranded yarn. Spider silk-like Vectran™ has an enormous tensile strength at a very low weight, making it ideal for use in high-quality Continental bicycle tires as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran™ breaker is lighter, more flexible, and provides more effective protection against cuts than a comparable nylon breaker. The Vectran™ breaker has no adverse effect on rolling resistance.
