The Smartflex polymer foam, which is only about 10 mm thick, hardens upon impact within milliseconds and absorbs up to 90% of the energy. Afterward, the foam immediately returns to its soft and flexible state. The waterproof pads seal out sweat that can erode the foam, and the Pro X3 Short can be washed at 40°.
