KEP foam is mandatory and must be purchased in addition to the helmet. The foam will determine the final size of the helmet. For size M helmets, foam sizes range from 51 to 58. For size L helmets, foam sizes range from 59 to 62.

American helmet foam (for oval heads) with side padding is suitable for all KEP Italia Cromo 2.0 helmets. The interior padding of KEP Italia helmets corresponds to each rider's size. There are 12 padding sizes: the first eight (51 to 58) fit M (medium) size helmets, while the next four (59 to 62) fit L (large) size helmets.

Padding is a very important element, as its thickness determines how well the helmet fits the rider's head. The KEP Italia padding is made of a single piece, easy to remove and replace inside the helmet. It is hand or machine washable at 30°C or in cold water.

Made from Coolmax® fabric, an innovative fiber that maintains a cool temperature and improves skin hydration, it also wicks away moisture quickly and dries very quickly. The fact that the padding corresponds to the rider's size means that a rider who has to ride with their hair loose or tied up can have two interchangeable padding of different sizes.

The same applies to growing children, who can easily adapt their helmet to the size of their head. Their parents can buy the next size up and replace the one that has become too small, without having to buy a new helmet. Since the helmet's ability to provide the best protection also depends on the fit of the helmet on the rider's head, KEP Italia has developed a series of specific padding for oval, round, and thinner heads.

KEP Italia padding is available in black (supplied with all KEP Italia helmets), beige (supplied with certain models with color-matched details, and also available on request for all other helmets), endurance (with the nape of the neck in microperforated mesh), and winter (capable of protecting the rider's ear and neck area from the cold).
