The inner ring allows for quick and secure loading and unloading of the plates on any Olympic barbell. Polyurethane, also known as PUR or PU, is a special plastic with properties that are ideal for fitness equipment. The material achieves an optimal hardness level, is very robust, and at the same time, very elastic, making it gentle on other equipment and the floor. A PU coating has extremely high tear resistance and is highly insensitive and resistant to impacts, abrasion, scratches, or chipping. These weight plates are therefore as resilient as steel while being soft as rubber.
