Down creates many small heat-retaining air chambers and is lighter, more flexible, and better insulating than any man-made technologies. The loftiness of Yeti down is regularly checked in laboratories of the internationally recognized International Down and Feather Laboratory. Yeti places great importance on sourcing down from ethically raised, free-range adult geese on European farms. These geese are bred for meat production and are only plucked after their death.
