Pentax Sport Optics A Series

The A series comprises roof prism binoculars with an objective lens diameter of up to 40 mm. All roof prisms in this group feature an additional light transmission coating, known as the Enhanced Light Transmission Coating, in addition to the full multi-coating. The A series binoculars are compact, portable, and robust, making them the smaller counterparts of the S series. Binoculars with the WP designation are waterproof. With this series, users can enjoy maximum mobility without compromising viewing comfort and optical performance.

All Pentax Sport Optics binoculars use prisms made of high-purity BaK4 glass with a high refractive index, and their full multi-coating is now considered the standard coating.

Optimum light transmission is one of the most important aspects for the viewing quality of binoculars, which is also the focus of the new technologies for the current Pentax Sport Optics series. The full multi-coating of all lenses is regarded as the new standard coating. It improves light transmission and contrast while minimizing reflections and providing excellent color fidelity.

The new Enhanced Light Transmission Coating significantly raises the optical performance of the new Pentax binoculars. This optimized light transmission coating increases light transmission and guarantees exceptionally bright images with precise color reproduction.

Because the light rays in a prism are deflected several times at different angles, the nature of the optical glass is of decisive importance. Thus, only prisms made of high-purity BaK4 glass with a high refractive index are used for Pentax binoculars.
