Product details
The Neox is the logical continuation of the Grigri, which is often referred to as the "mother of all semi-automatic belay devices." The Neox, a belay device with blocking support, features an integrated pulley that ensures a smooth rope flow and quick rope release, especially during lead climbing. This integrated pulley eliminates the need for the gas plant method when belaying. In the event of a fall or if the climber needs to take a break while checking the route, the rope tightens, causing the wheel to block. The cam rotates, triggering a pinch and blocking of the rope. It may sound technical, but it works very well in practice – we were impressed with the easy handling during our practical test on the wall. To release the pinch position after a fall or break, the lowering lever is operated, allowing either to continue climbing up or to lower the partner. A progressive adjustment of the rope flow with the lever enables a smooth and comfortable lowering of the climbing partner. The Petzl belay device consists of two side pieces that slide apart for rope insertion. Instructions on how to insert the rope are depicted both inside and outside the Neox.
