This is due to the varying shapes of the lugs: deeper in the center to promote quick rolling on asphalt, and higher on the sides, ready for off-road terrain. The motorcycle-derived profile ensures traction in a crouched position. The 5 mm rubber layer makes the tire suitable for light trails outside the city and reliable on uncertain terrain.
