Garmin Edge Explore
Garmin Edge Explore
Hello The device lasts about 8 hours without economy mode, i.e. continuous view of the route. Otherwise around 12h. I bought a small charger for my mobile phone. You won't have any more problems with it. You can attach it to the handlebars
So far I haven't heard anything from the unit. It is not to be assumed.
No, the device does not have a MicroSD port. Copying Topo Switzerland maps is not possible as far as I know (certainly not in a simple way...). However, you can use apps such as Komoot to transfer routes from these apps to the Edge Explore.
Yes, the device is easily compatible with Komoot.
I recommend the garmin Edge 830, which can be easily connected to komoot. It has good GPS reception, an accurate barometric altimeter and a long battery life.
The best thing to do is to contact our customer service directly at https://helpcenter.digitec.ch/hc/de/requests/new. Your request can then be examined individually.
Yeah, sure. No problem.
In 2013 I bought an EGDE 200 GPS. The mount on the recently purchased EDGE EXPLORE is the same as on the EDGE 200, so there is a good chance that other EDGE units will also fit.
Yes, that works. But Komot on the mobile phone is better.
Is it possible to just switch on the map and look at it while driving without having set navigation?
Yes, you can.
No, it's not possible to export the preinstalled map material, because it's locked on the device.
I use it only for the road bike have it for MTB not yet used and in the app I can give you also unfortunately no information. Otherwise, the device is very good for my needs!
Unfortunately I don't have TOPO, but I have loaded a few opensource maps with the Garmin tool. Since the Explorer is also available in a kit with Swiss TOPO, it should work.

As it is a cut-down version of the "big" Edge, I would not recommend this, as both performance and connectivity are significantly worse...
According to the data collected, the Garmin Edge Explore is compatible with all Tacx exercise bikes that allow a connection via ANT+ or Bluetooth. The Tacx Vortex establishes this connection via ANT+ and can therefore be controlled via the device. However, it is not possible to supply power via the exercise bike. This must be done using an external USB cable.
No, it is not "LifeTime".
Yes, it is included.
What works for a bike also works for hiking. But the EDGE has been optimised for use as a bike computer (mount, buttons for operation, etc.). Therefore, I would also suggest looking at other products that have been designed for general outdoor activities. For hiking, for example, I use the Fenix.
I mean it does this via GPS. However, I am not enthusiastic about the device. Difficult to use, GPS tracks often don't work properly, battery life is barely sufficient, no auto brightness. I wouldn't buy it again. Maybe the new ones that are specifically designed for MTBs are better.
yes, it's no problem. but you need the garmin baseCamp software.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a suitable cover yet either, sorry.
No, this additional battery is only compatible with the Edge 1030.
Scope of delivery: Operating instructions , 1 x USB charging cable , 1 x handlebar mount , fastening strap
Unfortunately, we do not know how much memory is already occupied by the map of Europe and other things. However, it should be possible to install the TOPO Switzerland PRO map without any problems.
Hello Nathalie I don't use the device with the Strava segments. To find out more, I recommend the Garmin website Here is the link to your request https://support.garmin.com/de-CH/?faq=l8JZsm5MAbAqaWs22qHcn5 Kind regards Thomas
Geschwindigkeit/Trittfrequenz sensors are not included, Garmin Edge Aero as well. Both need to bought separately. The Edge Explorer package includes device, charging cable and a handle bar mounting kit (with rubber bands).
