The Wildfire Edge is a shoe designed for technical approaches that can transform from a hiking shoe into a climbing shoe. The Salewa Switchfit system is as simple as it is clever, developed in collaboration with mountain guides and top climbers in the Dolomites: simply pull the laces at the rear eyelet together and upwards. This pulls your foot forward into the toe cap, compressing the toes like in a climbing shoe. After climbing, you can loosen the laces at the rear eyelet to allow the toe cap to expand, providing greater comfort while hiking.

To enhance climbing precision, the Wildfire Edge is also equipped with an Edging Plate, an insole plate under the forefoot that adds extra stiffness under the toes. The Pomoca Speed MTN sole works thanks to a Pomoca butyl compound, offering improved grip and higher friction in both dry and wet conditions. The sole features a precision climbing zone in the toe area, good edging performance, and aggressive lugs for enhanced traction on muddy and soft terrain.

For better torsional stability, the outer material is made of Exa Shell, which wraps around the foot in combination with the 3-F System, providing flexibility, fit, and support.
