Think big is the motto of the big 40 – the large goggle makes a statement on truly big powder days. To maintain visibility in steep couloirs and changing light conditions, the spherical full mirror lens of the big 40 measures a substantial 40 mm from the forehead to the bridge of the nose.

One turn, the skis sink into deep powder, and fine snow dusts the face. For a moment, the powder obscures the view before sliding off the lens. A quick wipe with the glove and it’s back to navigating the pillows in the woods. It’s precisely for these moments that the uvex product designers developed the new big 40.

The big 40 is not only a style statement but also impresses with its technical features. The frameless design of the oversized powder goggle expands the field of vision to 186° and ensures that kicked-up spray glides off the lens even more easily. To keep track in changing light conditions in steep couloirs or wooded slopes, the uvex big 40 is available not only in the pure full mirror (FM) model but also as a VFM model with variomatic® coating. This automatically tints the fully mirrored lens between protection levels S1 (light tint) and S3 (very dark tint) depending on light intensity. Naturally, all models provide 100% protection against harmful UVA, UVB, and UVC rays. The proven supravision coating reliably prevents fogging of the spherical lens in any weather, ensuring clear visibility at all times. Pre-shaped foam padding that conforms to the face contour, along with silicone prints on the goggle strap, ensures that the goggle sits securely on the helmet in the terrain, allowing for uninterrupted powder turns.
