This new Friend is no exception; it is built with a dual axle and remains a Friend. At its core, our constant 13.75-degree cam angle provides the axis on which future climbers will place their trust. Sturdy and reliable, this Friend combines classic features with significant innovations to create a captivating blend of old and new. Externally stylish, with distinctive design elements, it draws the eye to a variety of clever upgrades: hollow axles (patent pending) are stiffer and lighter, wide, polished lobes provide better grip while being gentler on the rock, and the new 12 mm Dyneema is agile and easy to extend, saving time and reducing weight since you don't need to use a carabiner for each one. The internal components are based on the classic foundations of Wild Country: our legendary holding power and the consistency of overlap between units, while the dual axle has allowed us to increase the range per unit.
