Product details

Natural feather balls from Yonex come from Chinese geese, with the feathers being by-products of the food industry. The five different products vary only in quality, indicated by a number; the higher the number, the smoother the ball flies and the longer it lasts. The AS-40 and AS-50 are shuttlecocks approved by Swiss Badminton for all tournaments and interclub championships in Switzerland. The AS-30 is approved for the 3rd to 5th league of the Interclub Championships and is recognized as a first-class training ball, even among unlicensed players. The AS-30 is the bestseller in the range of natural feather balls. The AS-20 and AS-10 are also very good shuttlecocks, often used as training balls in clubs. Even hobby players increasingly prefer shuttlecocks with real feathers, as they provide a better playing feel and a richer sound when hitting the ball.

Yonex shuttles are used at the vast majority of Grand Prix tournaments, all World Championships, and Olympic Games. They set the standard in both top-class and popular sports. Naturally, Yonex shuttlecocks are the best-selling in the world.

The AS-10 and AS-20 are only available in Speed 3. The AS-30, AS-40, and AS-50 are available in Speeds 2 and 3, with the AS-50 also available in Speed 1. Typically, Speed 3 is used in Switzerland, but Speed 2 is becoming more common. Speed 1 is best suited for the Jura or Engadin, where other shuttles may fly far beyond the field. In badminton, the speed of the shuttle is defined by the rules or by the referee, if applicable, and is only adjusted due to external geographical or meteorological factors such as temperature and humidity. The level of play or preferences of the players are not considered in terms of regulation. However, at lower levels, slower shuttles are often preferred for easier control, while faster shuttles allow for hitting from baseline to baseline.
