Are these side rubbers really good/do they keep their promise, because I don't want the paint to come off on my door frame? Has anyone had any experience with them (hopefully good), if so, how did it turn out?
Addendum: There is a slight dent on the left side, where the lower third is slightly deepened and there are two "mini-dents" with a diameter of 5 millimetres at the bottom. The paint is not damaged. The depression is less than 0.5 millimetres deep and only visible on close inspection. The big dilemma with this mounting is security versus damage to the door frame. For my purposes, it has more than lived up to expectation ,especially at the reasonable price. To avoid the slight dent, I probably should have removed or slightly moved the bar in between.
Side rubbers are ok. The plates at the end where the rubber is are very badly welded, I had to re-weld them so I would not buy the bar again.
I removed the pull-up bar earlier out of curiosity after it had been permanently mounted on the door frame since March 2021. The rubbers stuck to the frame on both sides, but could be removed easily with a little force. There is no damage or indentation underneath, just a very slight yellowish discolouration that could be easily removed with a little cleaning agent. So there is absolutely nothing left to see. Of course, it also depends on how hard you tighten the bar. At a certain point, the door frame starts to creak. From that point on, I did a half turn back. It only happened once that the bar slipped slightly. However, I only hung on to it calmly (I weigh about 75 kilos) and didn't do any climate moves or anything like that ;)
The side rubbers certainly hold the weight at one time, but I only noticed this the other day. The rubbers discolour a certain tone, which makes it possible to see where the bar was placed on the wooden door frame. But otherwise I recommend this rod as it keeps its promise.
