The factory-sharpened blade with a Scandi grind is made from non-stainless Böhler K720 carbon steel, also known as O2 steel.

The handle scales are made from beautiful, 5000-year-old bog oak. The color of the bog oak varies slightly from knife to knife.

The Casström Woodsman comes with a matching fire steel and a beautifully crafted cowhide sheath that securely holds the knife in place.

Although K720 steel is not stainless, we encountered no rust issues during our tests. However, it is advisable never to store the blade wet in the sheath and to oil the knife as needed before storage or when traveling in humid areas. Two significant advantages of non-stainless steels are the noticeably higher achievable final sharpness compared to stainless steels and the generally easier resharpening.
