The VDE-tested side cutter is a safety pliers with 1000 V protective insulation. The pliers from the Diamond Plus series comply with the current standards of IEC900, IEC 60 900, and VDE 0682/Part 201. These strict safety guidelines mandate ten different quality tests for the insulation protection of the pliers. In addition to type testing, the independent testing body of VDE regularly conducts inspections of manufacturing and storage.

The pliers are tested in a water bath at a test voltage of 10,000 V AC for breakthrough and flashover. This guarantees piece-tested safety. Optimized lever ratios, smooth operation, and ergonomically designed grips enable power-saving and ergonomic work. They are made from highly alloyed tool steels, fully oil-hardened, and all cutting edges are additionally inductively hardened. The surfaces are highly polished and intricately chrome-plated.
