Product details

The Homematic IP light sensor cyclically measures ambient brightness and transmits it to a paired central unit. Here, the brightness value can be evaluated in various ways, for example, for flexible roller shutter control. Directly switching HmIP actuators when thresholds are exceeded or not met is possible.

Note: This is a kit that needs to be assembled!

Ambient brightness is a factor that can be used in various applications in building technology, whether for lighting control, climate control/shading, roller shutter control, or other criteria. The HmIP-SLO light sensor is much more than just a simple brightness sensor. The battery-operated sensor is housed in a weatherproof casing that is mounted on a wall. Through a clear sensor window, the sensor measures laterally incoming light. Brightness is measured in lux and transmitted cyclically to a central unit. Unlike a simple sensor, this sensor transmits not just one value, but a set of four values that can be used for various automation tasks.

With configurable switching thresholds, paired actuators can be controlled directly from the sensor, such as switching actuators for lighting or shading. The battery-operated outdoor sensor captures outdoor brightness in lux. With CCU2/CCU3 and the Homematic radio module for Raspberry Pi, extensive configuration options for transmission and filtering behavior, as well as evaluations of all available measurement values (current, minimum, maximum, average values), are possible. Twilight thresholds can be configured via a central unit, allowing for direct actuator control from the sensor. The device operates with Homematic CCU2 and compatible central units.
