The EMOS maintenance-free lead-acid batteries are designed as replacement batteries for UPS backup power supplies, RBC kits, electronic security systems (ESS), electrical fire detection systems (EPS), lift backup systems, etc.

Batteries of this type are not intended for energy storage e.g. in solar systems and cannot be used as starter batteries for cars, motorbikes and electric scooters.

The maintenance-free, valve-regulated EMOS lead-acid batteries in AGM design can be installed in any position.

AGM batteries contain the electrolyte, which is soaked in glass laminate microfibres that form part of the separators between the individual lead plates. This is essentially a glass fibre into which the electrolyte penetrates during casting. Leaking acid no longer poses a risk and the batteries are therefore very safe to use.

The battery's safety valves prevent it from exploding in the event of gassing. The entire battery cover complies with the relevant standard and the battery fulfils the general product safety requirements.

The battery must be charged before first use. If the battery is inserted into a device that cannot recognise its charge status, the battery can be completely discharged, which will lead to irreversible damage - destruction of the battery.

The battery must be charged using a suitable power supply unit or charger with AGM technology that has a charging voltage of 14.4 V for 12 V batteries and 7.2 V for 6 V batteries. If the charger or power supply does not have these parameters, this will result in an incomplete charging process, rapid energy consumption and, in extreme cases, destruction of the battery.

The optimum service life of fuse systems is 5 years.
