The splinter guard is mounted instead of the viewing window and allows for clean cuts to the right of the saw blade. When the machine is running, the installed splinter guard is cut in and thus fits exactly to the saw blade. The splinter guard can be adjusted in height, making it suitable for cuts with and without a guide rail.
