Product details

GESIPA blind rivets ensure a permanently secure joining of various, including sensitive, materials. The blind riveting technology from GESIPA has become indispensable in many modern industrial productions where connection technology is required, due to its cost-effectiveness and versatility. It combines advantages such as overcoming limited accessibility of components, permanently secure joining of various, even sensitive, materials, and, upon request, even documentation of the setting process.

From a technical perspective, the blind rivet consists of two components: the hollow rivet and the rivet mandrel. While with screws, clinching, and punch riveting, the component must always be accessible from both sides, the special feature of the blind rivet is that only one-sided accessibility is required. During the setting process, the mandrel is pulled with the jaws of the setting device, deforming the hollow rivet until it fits firmly in the component as predefined. Finally, the mandrel breaks off at the designated point, the predetermined breaking point, and the remaining mandrel can be sent for recycling.

The remaining mandrel is the part of the mandrel that remains in the hollow rivet and can take on an additional securing function depending on the application. The perfect connector for every application, as there are blind rivets in various designs, materials, shapes, lengths, and colors. Depending on the task that a blind rivet is to fulfill, GESIPA offers a choice between a standard model available from stock or a blind rivet specifically designed for a particular application. A rule of thumb for determining the rivet shank length is: material thickness plus rivet shank diameter equals rivet shank length.

GESIPA blind rivets – terminology: The blind rivet consists of two parts: the hollow rivet and the rivet mandrel.
