The wooden beam absorbs tensile forces, while the concrete acts as a compression plate. The shear-resistant connection is achieved through cross-arranged VB fasteners. This reduces the deflection of the ceiling structure and significantly increases load-bearing capacity. The HECO-VB composite system can now also be used with multi-span beams.
