The window and door contact reliably detects the opening and closing of windows and doors via a magnetic contact. It can be used both within the Homematic IP system in conjunction with other HmIP devices and as a standalone unit to control HmIP-eTRV-B radiator thermostats.

The Homematic IP window and door contact registers the opening and closing of doors through a magnetic contact triggered by an external magnet. This, along with the operation using two batteries, allows for energy-efficient and low-maintenance operation for up to four years on a single battery set.

The Homematic IP window and door contact is suitable as a reporting contact, for example, for the Homematic IP climate and security solution within the Homematic IP system. It offers flexible installation options with included adhesive strips or screws. Low-maintenance operation with a battery life of up to 4 years.

In a smart home setup with the Homematic IP Access Point or the Smart Home Central CCU3: configuration and control via the free Homematic IP smartphone app or the local user interface WebUI. It can be combined with a variety of Homematic IP devices for extended functionality, such as triggering an alarm via the Homematic IP app when windows are open and the protection mode is activated. The app also displays open windows and doors, allowing you to keep everything in view even when you're away.

Operation requires connection to one of the following solutions: Homematic IP Access Point with a free smartphone app and free cloud service, standalone (Push-to-Pair), Smart Home Central CCU3 with local user interface WebUI, radio modules for Raspberry Pi, or third-party partner solutions. Note: The CCU2 central unit is not supported.
