Gouges with flattened 2-component handle "KIRSCHEN" gouges are hand-forged from special tool steel with a high carbon content. With a hardness of ± HRc 61 over the entire useful length of the blade, they are far above the DIN standard and produce a smooth cut due to their score-free polished surface. The chisels are delivered from the factory with a cutting edge angle of 25°. This angle is suitable for soft to medium-hard wood. We recommend sharpening the cutting edge of our chisels with a whetstone before first use.
