However, we must caution that an extended roof is not suitable for storms, heavy rain, hail, snow, tornadoes, and volcanic eruptions. Thanks to the integrated drainage eyelets, rainwater cannot accumulate on the roof and lead to unwanted flash floods. Thus, the pergola is even better prepared for rain showers. In general, we recommend dismantling the roof before heavy rain showers. We also need to point out that in the case of snow, the cover must be removed, as the roof beams are not designed to bear that load. The pergola is assembled with screws made of steel, which cannot be powder-coated. Therefore, they will rust over time under normal weather conditions. However, this rust usually only becomes visible when the roof is dismantled. If this is a concern, the rust can be easily removed with commercially available rust removers.
