Regardless of the climbing height, the following applies: As a fall protection measure, back protection is preferred over climbing protection (combination is not allowed, as the rescue of individuals is hindered by back protection). A medical examination for height suitability (e.g., G 41) is required, depending on the risk assessment (including total climbing height, type of fall protection) of the respective climbing ladder systems. Proof of the load-bearing capacity of the ground must be verified and approved by a responsible expert in structural safety for each construction project. A passage barrier (safety door) is always required. If the access situation demands it, climbing ladders with climbing protection must have suitable protective devices (e.g., steel closing door) against unauthorized use. For lateral crossings, the ladder sections must be raised higher. In multi-rail ladder systems, the overlap of the back protection must be at least 2,000 mm. At unsecured exit points, railings must be installed on both sides of the climbing ladder or led to the exit level. The gap at the exit must not exceed 60-75 mm. Entry measurement: Distance from the entry level to the first rung is 100 - 400 mm. The upper edge of the top rung must be at the same height as the walking surface of the exit point. The gap dimensions between the climbing ladder system and the railing must not exceed 120 mm. The connection to the climbing protection must be established and released from a secured standing position. A secured standing position is, for example, a platform with a railing and a secured access. A safety door is required at the exit. This is not included in the complete set and must be ordered separately. The maximum height of individual ladder sections is 6.0 m.
