Steel
We use modified stainless steel Sandvik 12C27. Due to the addition of chrome, it is corrosion resistant and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% ensures an excellent cutting edge.
Handle
Our oak comes from France. It is a hard wood, very resistant, even to insects and fungi thanks to a high tannin content. It has a yellow-brown appearance, with regular veins.
Safety ring
The Virobloc safety ring, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, is fitted to all folding knives from No. 06 onwards. The Virobloc is made of stainless steel and consists of two parts, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety during transport).
