Dracaenas, also known as dragon trees, are native to tropical Africa or Asia. Their name is derived from the Greek word drakaina, meaning "female dragon." When the plant is damaged, red resin flows from the wounds. This resin is also known as dragon's blood and has been used medicinally since ancient times. Today, it is commonly found in medications for gastrointestinal issues as well as in dietary supplements. It is also present in anti-aging creams; dragon's blood is said to have an antioxidant effect that is up to five times stronger than that of vitamin E. The Dracaena bicolor has a striking appearance. Its beautiful dark green leaves with a subtle dark red sheen give the plant a unique look. The Dracaena is also very easy to care for.

Care
This Dracaena is very low maintenance. It enjoys bright light and a humid atmosphere. Regularly misting the leaves with water helps keep the plant looking nice. The plant requires little water; you only need to water it when the soil feels dry. In summer, it is better to keep the soil slightly moist. The ideal temperature for this plant is between 18°C and 25°C.
