Product details

Homegrown pomegranates from your own garden? With the shrub Punica Granatum, this is possible! This special shrub has been used as an ornamental plant for centuries and is popular for its tasty and very healthy fruits. The pomegranate tree starts as a shrub and then grows into a small tree with a rounded crown. The top is closed and densely branched with light brown branches that have a sharp tip. The glossy green leaves turn into a beautiful yellow-brown in autumn. This shrub not only bears delicious fruits but also boasts magnificent orange-red flowers. Following the blooms, the tasty, edible fruits appear. The large yellow-red fruits contain countless seeds in sweet, juicy flesh and are rich in vitamins and minerals. The Punica Granatum is also hardy.

Care
The Punica Granatum is not difficult to care for, but it requires an extremely good summer in our climate to produce ripe fruits. Due to its limited winter hardiness, this tree can only be used as a container plant in gardens, on terraces, and in courtyards in Northwestern Europe. The pomegranate tree can grow in any fertile, moist soil, provided it is sufficiently well-drained. The plant prefers a spot in full sun. If the plant is in the garden, it is advisable to protect it from cold and frost during the winter. Ultimately, the Punica Granatum can grow up to 200 to 300 cm tall. Additionally, the plant is non-toxic.
