Nepenthes x St. Gaya (Pitcher Plant)

This very impressive Nepenthes x St. Gaya, also known as the pitcher plant, delights especially enthusiasts of exotic plants. It looks very decorative and primarily feeds on insects. However, it is not sold as an insecticide and will not eliminate all insects in a room. Just to avoid any false expectations. It is mainly purchased for its ornamental value. The Nepenthes x St. Gaya can reach a size of about 40 cm. It must be kept moist year-round and additionally sprayed with low-calcium water. It requires a bright location without direct sunlight. With good care, you will be rewarded with pitchers up to 15 cm in size. The pitchers are emptied before transport. They need to be refilled with calcium-free water after unpacking, we recommend filling them one-third to halfway.

General Information
Your plant arrives freshly repotted in a larger black cultivation pot with a drainage hole made from recycled material and fresh, peat-free Swiss soil. This way, you won't have to worry about repotting. You may still need a decorative pot or saucer. The pot has a diameter of 14 cm, and the plant has a height of about 45 cm including the pot. Shipping is done directly from Switzerland.

Care Instructions
Location: Bright to fully sunny location. The plant can even tolerate direct midday sun. Please keep in mind that the plant will need to acclimate to its new location. So, gradually introduce it to the sun. Avoid shady or partially shaded spots.

Watering: A lot. Water only with calcium-free water, and the pitchers must always be half to three-quarters full. Instead of rainwater, distilled water can also be used.
