The plid brand boat varnish is manufactured in Germany. The plid boat varnish is a colourless, high-gloss special coating that can be used both indoors and outdoors. Due to its high mechanical resistance, this varnish is particularly suitable for heavily used surfaces such as boats, tables and similar. No special primer is required for normal substrates, as this varnish is a primer, intermediate and top coat in one.

Substrate pre-treatment:
The substrate must be clean, dry, grease-free and sound. Loose paint particles and unsound old coats must be removed with paint stripper. Sand down sound old coats thoroughly (wear a dust mask). The intermediate coats must be lightly sanded after drying (wear a dust mask).

Application:
The material is ready to use. Do not mix with other materials.
Brush, roll or spray. Clean tools with water immediately after use.

Coating structure on wood, interior and exterior:
a) Properly prepare the substrate
b) One coat on the exterior with wood primer as blue stain protection
c) One primer coat diluted with 50 % turpentine substitutetd) Sand carefully after 24 hours (sandpaper K300)
e) 1st intermediate coat diluted with approx. 30% turpentine substitute
f) 2nd intermediate coat diluted with approx. 15% turpentine substitute
g) 1st final coat undiluted

2nd coat build-up on old coats or renovation coat:
a) Prepare the substrate accordingly
b) Paint 1 - 2 coats

Drying time / reworking:
In dry, warm air (DIN 50014, 23 °C, 50 % relative humidity), recoatable after 24 hours at the earliest. Dust-dry after approx. 3 hours, touch-dry after approx. 16 hours and fully cured after 3 days. In cool, damp weather, allow a correspondingly longer drying time.
