I bought the Garmin DriveAssist 51 LMT-D EU 4 years ago. It is now faulty and I would like to replace it with an up-to-date sat nav with dashcam. The Garmin DriveSmart 66 MT-S seems to fulfil my requirements, but it seems to have a different cable connection to the DriveAssist 51, but I would like to avoid the cost of installing a new cable in my car. Therefore my question: Is there a transition part for the cable of the DriveAssist 51 to the socket of the DriveSmart 66 or is there a comparable Garmin sat nav to the DriveSmart 66 but with the same cable connector as the DriveAssist 51? Thank you for your help.

I found out that there is a D version and an S version. In one version, the traffic information comes via a special cable; in the other, you need a mobile phone. But it is not clear whether the traffic information is the same. The D or S version is rarely listed in any of the offers. Galaxus may be able to clarify the question. Freiburghaus

There are really two versions here. One that uses the mobile phone to receive the traffic data and one with the cable included. With this item, a mobile phone would have to be used for the traffic radio. According to the manufacturer's website, however, there is no difference in the data.

I find 3 Garmin with the same name "DriveSmart 66" on Digitec's site. One for CHF 170.-, one for 220.- and one for 202.- The difference in specifications makes no sense to me, except that one is described in English and with Alexa integration. Question 1: What is the difference between the 3 devices? Question 2: Will the charging cable of the Garmin Zumo 396 LMT-S fit the DriveSmart 66? PS. I think clear product descriptions are a quality feature that Digitec should pay attention to.

This navigation device can only receive traffic data via a paired smartphone. This Garmin DriveSmart 66 (6 ") can receive the traffic radio via DAB+ and is therefore independent of a connection to the smartphone.
