When you discover signs of mice or rats in your house or garden, quick action is required. Even though a little mouse may be cute, you would prefer to keep your supplies untouched. However, be kind to the rodent and catch it alive using a live trap. When the trap snaps shut, the little creature is securely caught, and you can release it far away from home. To set the trap, press the small levers up at the doors. For bait, particularly protein-rich foods like ham or bread with nut nougat cream, and especially peanut butter, are recommended. Place the bait on the inner bait plate and set the trap in the desired location, close to the animal tracks. Now, secure the levers at the top of the cage doors under the rod. Finally, hook the upper rod under the small hook, and the trap is set. The trap will close securely upon contact with the tread plate. Note: Regularly checking the trap prevents stress and starvation for the animal.
