The thread is cut in a single operation. The TiAlN wear protection coating increases the surface hardness to approximately 3,500 HV. Titanium aluminum nitride is a chemical compound of the three elements titanium, aluminum, and nitrogen. TiAlN is a metallic hard material with a typical black-violet color. Advantages: The TiAlN coating allows for dry machining of cutting tools, cooling is not necessary. Higher hardness, very low friction coefficient, optimal tool life. Illustration is schematic.
