The specified depth measurements refer to the overall depth for each unit. The Sirius 3RW40 can be integrated into a motor control system that uses other control device products from Sirius, such as 3-pole overload relays from the 3RV10 series. It provides two phase controls as well as soft starting and stopping of three-phase asynchronous motors. The power loss is low, and the switching voltage is adjustable from 40 to 100% of the operating voltage.

Additional features include integrated bypass contacts, DIN rail mounting, compact design and dimensions, status indication, electronic motor overload and intrinsic device protection, adjustable current limitation, optional thermistor motor protection (up to version S3), and integrated remote reset (up to version S3).

Integrated auxiliary contacts "Self-hold" and "Start-end" are also available. The self-hold contact is used for locking when the control is operated with a simple on/off switch. The start-end signal can be used to operate other parts of the system, such as a pump. It is the ideal replacement for direct and star-delta starters.
