Type H Locking Sleeves
Locking sleeves are used to secure bearings with a tapered bore onto a cylindrical seat. When using locking sleeves on a smooth shaft, the bearings can be mounted at any position along the shaft. However, when using stepped shafts in conjunction with a support ring, precise axial positioning of the bearing is possible, which also simplifies the removal of the bearings.
