The Kraftangriff Kreuzschlitz Z is an evolution of the basic cross-power drive from Philips Screw Company. The difference is that the four sides of the screwdriver blade do not taper towards the tip. This increases the lateral grip for the bit and reduces the cam-out effect, which occurs in conventional cross-power drives due to the tapering, as the torque of the cordless screwdriver pushes the screwdriver bit upwards.
Where the countersunk screw is designed flat for flush sinking of the screws, the lens countersunk head features a convex rounding. Depending on the type of screw and surface finish (stainless steel, nickel-plated, antique), these screws become a decorative element, for example in furniture construction or when fastening baseboards.
In contrast to partially threaded screws, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood. Our full-thread screws are primarily used for high-load wood connections.
The term 4CUT refers to the square shaping of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibers during insertion and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The spreading pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced, preventing the wood from splitting near the edge. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also decreased, as the core of the screw does not have to "squeeze" into the wood.
A nickel alloy is a finishing process that gives the screws a chrome-colored, slightly yellowish appearance. Nickel-plated screws are perfectly suited for indoor applications. For outdoor use, we recommend our screws with WIROX coating for non-direct weather exposure, while for direct weather exposure, only stainless steel A2 or A4 quality is recommended.
