The SPAX typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal hexagon. This shape increases the contact area of our T-STAR plus, allowing the T-STAR plus bits to fit perfectly into the screw head. The optimal power transfer from the screwdriver to the screw through T-STAR plus enables quick work, significantly more efficiently than with any other drives. The countersunk head (or flat countersunk head) carves out a recess in the wood with its polygonal underside ("pockets") and can therefore be sunk without additional countersinking of the screw hole. The countersunk head is flush with the surface. The screws with partial thread are excellent for fastening thin components such as wood-based panels, boards, or floorboards to thicker components like beams or posts. The short thread screws into the thick component, while the unthreaded shaft remains in the attachment. This creates maximum clamping pressure between the two. The unthreaded part should be at least as thick as the attachment. The term 4CUT refers to the square shaping of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibers during insertion and create space for the screw's core diameter. The spreading pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced, preventing the wood from splitting near the edge. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, as the core of the screw does not have to "squeeze" into the wood. With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that far surpasses galvanization in terms of corrosion protection. WIROX does not use chromium (VI), and the screws remain just as durable after years in outdoor areas not directly exposed to the weather, while also being environmentally friendly.
